Re: Electric bilge pump

Thanks for the info. Once way valve and a Y piece seems to be the popular route!

Re: Water tank

I sort of did. Using a sealant called CT1. Applying it with a long stick as best I could, leaving it over night to set, the leaking of water was much reduced though not perfect. CT1 comes in white and is safe for potable use. I may have to give it another go but I have since seen a spray called Jays...

Electric bilge pump

Has anyone installed an electric bilge pump in addition to the manual pump? If so, is it possible or desirable to link the two outlet pipes together so the water pumps out the same hole in the transom? Or is it preferable to drill an new hole in the hull somewhere else?

Many thanks.

Anchor warp

I have 30m of 8mm chain spliced to 50m of 14mm anchorplait. Is 14mm too thin for our boats?

I know it depends on cruising area and frequency and weather conditions of use but I wondered what ground tackle others thought adequate.

Thanks.

I don't look at this forum often enough! I don't suppose your mainsail is still available?

Re: Anchor Winch

I bought a manual Lewmar Royal off ebay and installed it in the locker. then put the big cleat centred on the foredeck just aft of the locker. Seems to work fine. Though I'm using 14mm plait attached to 8mm chain. I'm thinking I should have used 16mm anchor plait. I don't know.

outboard bracket

How to people stow their outboard engines? Because of the flag pole bracket the pushpit rail has no vertical pole to rest and engine against. I've tried just putting the bracket on very tightly but the weight of the engine swivels the bracket round so the prop ends up resting on the transom combing....

Mainsail wanted

I'm after a mainsail that has a few years left in it. Preferably with reef points and slides in the luff. 10mm bolt rope in foot.

Water tank

My tank leaks water into the sump. I know some owners put in a flexible tank instead but I'm hoping to cut out the damaged GRP and fill with epoxy. Any advice of a suitable way of doing this and sourcing a non toxic epoxy?
Thanks.
