I've managed to lose the ventilator forward of the mast by getting the genoa sheet caught on it whilst tacking. It has come off at deck level, leaving just a hole. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement, or what a suitable modern replacement might be? I have found items like this ... 2pTTWMsYoV ....on line, but am not sure about this. Any advice/comments welcome, apart from 'in future make sure that the windward jib sheet is not fouled on anything before tacking'.

My Nic 31 was built in 1976. I'm pretty sure that the rubber dorade type vents on my boat are original and as I recall, I replaced one of them many years ago with one from Plastimo that matched perfectly. This leads me to think the original ones were from Plastimo .The Plastimo vent has a ring that fits into the molded hole for the deck/air vent forward of the mast and is secured with screws, and then the vent fits down on the ring. Here's a link to the Plastimo website page for the vents. I think I replaced a tall one with one of the lower profile vents like the ones in front of the sprayhood because a jib sheet got caught during a tack and pulled off the taller vent.

Hope this helps,
